Broke the timing chain on my truck a few months back, so out came the motor. Tore it down to take a look and found a groove in the timing cover, no idea where the tensioner got to? broken chain etc etc.

well, finally got it back home from the rebuilders and been putting it together over the last week. Decided to add some redneck down home bling bling.

Did the bore 30 thou over, new torque cam, bearings, all new valves, new oil pump, timing cover, timing chain kit.

It all came in just under $3 large bills . It better perform dammit!!!

When you say you've been assembling it yourself this week do you mean the motor itself or the motor into the truck?

I have a friend that offered me his Vortec V6 to do a swap. All the computer and stuff was there, but by the time you buy adapters and stuff it gets expensive.

I am getting the parts together to do a solid axle swap and cut out the ifs suspension.

Still waiting for Coast Powertrain in Kelowna to finish off my rear diff gear install. having the 5.29`s put in.

Had a hell of a time pulling the motor from the tranny. The dowel pins are really tight.

Been assembling the motor for a few days now. Takes time when the stealership has to order your parts from Toronto and Vancouver. I couldnt believe $50 for 4 studs that hold the valve cover to the rocker arm shaft.

Typical Toyota overpricing.

Its raining like a bitch out there and I HAVE to get it done ASAP. I ended up busting the rear differential in the wifes Camaro last night.

I have no room left in my driveway anymore.

Still working on the race car, the Toyota, my Sons car, The camaro and maybe my daughters old Tempo if she cant sell it.

ANyone wanna buy a 85 Tempo?

Ah! damn 22RE....what a stupid motor to work on.

My uncle's 89 has one as did my dad's 87.

350 swap would just break things....a 4.3 would be sweet though.

And yes, Toyota is overpriced....$100 for a fender for the 89.

I have a 93 4.3 Vortec sitting at my shop, still runs, still in the '93 Blazer 2WD (no a/c) that got rear ended, frame bent, & wrote off. 200,000km's.

$500 takes it all
