Can anybody tell me what the blue housing thing is for that resistor i need the similar piece. I'm swapping my photoresistor with a fixed resistor and on the guide, this guy has his resistor in a plastic housing that looks like it plugs directly into the old photoresistor plug.

 

doesn't matter i ended up just sticking the resistor itsself into the photoresistor's plug and wola no more auto-ons. though just curious if leaving a resistor exposed cause an electrical short? should i tape up the rest of the resistor thats sticking out abit so it doesn't make contact with anything or is it safe just to leave stickin out?
