Rice Cop on Patrol, tickets have been served!!
Hey Noo Tribe
Good luck finding a 93 Civic hatchback that isn't already souped up, and that has good frame rails still. It would be more unsuspecting and cheaper on insurance if you got a 4-door. Same engine? If not the same engine mounts for sure. I would have so much respect for some one who could find a 1980 Honda Civic and make it look mint and put a B16A motor in it. Oops!
I said too much! They'll know I used to drive a Honda Civic!
Peace!

but seriously i will probably enjoy driving this car around wayy more than my rex right now. i love the small nimble go kart feel of the hatchbacks.

people put 8' wings, light weight rims, stickers, exhaust tips etc on their cars because they personally like it....blah blah blah.
id be even more pissed to the point of legal action if some numbnut posted my cars pic with the plates showing on the internet
one of my favorite quotes of all times is "zippers, buttons, keys, rings, and rivets all scratch paint, so unless your naked STAY THE F**K AWAY FROM MY CAR"

I guess it shows too much pride in the owner's car can give him a bit too much attitude and get him carried away, both in what he/she puts on his car cosmetically and how one might rant or get violent about how someone goes ahead and broadcasts their riced up cars on the net. People should realize then, that the attention their cars draw by putting on questionable cosmetics on their car is their own fault.

what u dont realize is that YOUR opinion of what looks good, surprise surprise isnt the opinion EVERYONE else has, u dont like how something looks thats fine, but what gives u the right to ridicule someone else for their opinion? and the fact that the original poster of the pics STILL hasnt taken the 30 seconds to mask the plates on the cars, is plain ignorant.
now yes this is a car audio forum but last i checked common courtesy and unspoken rules in here imply the simple fact that u show respect, IE if someone is new to the sport and either has no clue what questions to ask, or has gear most of us would avoid like the plague, we keep our OPINIONS to ourselves and try to help em when they ask a basic question, or dont know the difference between an amp and a distro block.
i think its retarded to take pics of every import with a body kit or a window banner calling it rice. ive seen some tacky things done to cars, some make me sick some make me laugh, but common courtesy stops me from goin up to some guy at a car show and being like "DUDE! what did u do to that poor civic???"
honestly how many people here would like it if at a comp some guy came up and started raggin on an install u put a ton of time and cash into, and to u it was the cats ***.
now u said ur dump cash into your stereo for comps, a whole hell of alot of people feel thats a waste of time and money, all your car does it go boom boom boom and its not even music blah blah blah etc etc... but the difference is civics with euro tails and banners are all bout exterior, your stereo is inside so its outta sight. so its ok to rag on em cus they are askin for it??? come on man u know how dumb that sounds??

i think there are alot of retarded lookin cars out on the roads, and i personally hate civics but i fully support peoples right to invest their time money and passion into whatever makes them happy, i even moreso support their right to be as different as they possibly can (even if in the end they all look fairly similar)
it seems retarded that people us the term "rice" so much. its like everything in between a bare stock car and a car thats got 20K in upgrades is called rice. there are a lot of cars out there that i really don't like, but thats my opinion and thats why i my car doesn't look like theirs. I don't care if people take pics of my car, but if your touching it you'd better be a sponsor putting a business card under my wiper. people who go around putting rice cop tickets on peoples cars should be told off. unless you drive a car that wins major car shows, don't tell people they drive "ricey" cars. if your car is stock with a stereo(like me) don't act like your better than the person with rims and a body kit on their civic.
My stereo doesn't just go boom boom boom, it's got better than average daily driving SQ.
Make fun of my car's install? If they can't see it, what's to make fun of? And I wouldn't think they'd know any better. Besides, I can back myself up if I get **** thrown my way, no worry. Nothing's better than doing a proper install that people can seldom diss.
In any case, I like exterior modifications as long as they fit with the car, some do, some don't. I agree with the statement that rice is/can be a misused term. I wasn't ragging all cars displayed.
If things can be done right on a car, it would avoid a whole lot of comedy, maybe even this thread.
I've spent time researching products for cars and stereos by myself in looking what's needed to build a stereo or increase a car's performance. I'd suggest any person newly interested into whatever hobby it is, be it car modifications, audio...you name it; Research it first. Find out what it takes to do things properly. Learn to do things right without taking shortcuts. It would save a lot of grief and possibly embarrassement.
Tha-Game, maybe you're just worried your car will be put under fire. I don't think the possibility of having your car being taken hostage of publicly on a web forum is much of concern. From your description of the car, it looks quite standard. There's a Rio at my workplace that is also Santiago yellow come to think of it. Looks like an average new style car nowadays.

dude i have no problem with my car or people who dont like the color of my car, or it being on the internet hence my cardomain page,
http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...page_id=347625
what i dont agree with is people who feel its their right to judge what other people do with their property as "proper"
i get comments on my car all the time, whether its wow that color is tight, or god it looks like puke
if u like it, thats fine, if u hate it thats fine, i drive it not u, if u post pics of my property on the internet without my permission u are pushing
it, if u are putting it on a website to try and trashtalk my car cus u dont have the stones to tell me to my face, they we have a problem,
like honestly the 3 cars posted to start the thread, the person who started it doesnt know the difference between rice and stock
like can u honestly say that there was anything ricey about any of those cars, (the blue wiper blades on the sunfire is kinda iffy, admittedly, but the banner, the kit, the spoiler, all make sence on that car, the silver civic looks sweet (says alot coming from someone who cant stand civics) and the integ has what an acura banner? OMG
now if it were a tercel with an acura banner yea, thats ricey.
u are missing my point u might absolutely hate what someone does to a car, but u have no right to make fun of them for it in a public forum, if u feel that for some reason u do have that right why keep it to rice cars? why not move on to religion or ethnic back grounds?? some of those are clearly visible why not go after them right?
and when u have your car broken into u try not to get defensive when u see someone spending a little too much time checkin it out, or takin pics of it in a parking lot, see how u react to it

Come to think of it, I was mainly looking only at the Sunfire, but was thinking of other riced cars on the net when I was making my initial posts.
To make it clear as well, 'rice' is not just a word people use to describe what people do to their car, it's an ATTITUDE. The attitude behind it is what irks me more than what gets done to the car. More often than I care (nearly all the time) I see these cars with who knows what for cosmetic mods and they race up and down the streets with their buzzing exhaust and stock engine like they have nothing else to do but **** people off.
People likely wouldn't waste their time checking out Omni's so they can steal them afterwards. I also don't draw attention to myself when I'm driving, either by appearance or the way I drive or by the loudness of my stereo. The saying goes 'If you don't want to get stabbed in the back in a dark alley, don't go to a dark alley.'
Game, you should't be losing sleep over this whole debate, unless of course you work night shifts.
I think people should humble themselves a bit and take some time in getting what fits for their car (not talking about that Civic). We all grow up sooner or later.
