Big gamble to take that makes a young driver stick out that much more. It's a lawyers world these days, in the event of an accident a lawyer would eat you for breakfast. Is the fine and the potential for disaster worth it?

just pull your e-brake up one or 2 clicks. it turns your daytime driving light off and your bakes aren't anywhere near closing. Thats what my car is like. Pull your e-brake when your parked, and the car is running, get out and see if your lights are on. Or do what I did, when you pull the e-brake, there is a little grounding switch the grounds out when the e-brake is pulled. What I did was tap into that wire, run it up to a switch, and just grounded out the other end. When I want my daytime light off I just flip the switch. This way you aren't screwing with you headlight wires, or pulling fuses or relays.

o right yea... i totaly forgot about that.... thats unless your car beeps when u pull up the hand brake, then you would porbably have to wire in a toggle switch.

Well I new that when the e-brake was on my lights turned off, and I took my centre consel out because I was fabricating my own out of fiberglass. So I new there was something that turned the lights off when I the e-brake was pulled, so when I was in there I checked it out and found one wire attached to the brake lever assemble and found that it was grounded when the brake was pulled. Thats when I decided just to put a switch on it. I had the same thing, I had headlight covers and it looked funny with the lights on. Before i ran the switch I used to pulle the e-brake until it clicked once to turn the lights off. But now I just flick the switch and that grounds the wire turning the day-time running light off.

much safer and easier then tapping into the headlight wires. And doing it this way you'll never have to worry about high current shorting anything out and possibly starting a fire.

yeah, theres always that prob to, some newer cars beep if the car is put into drive and the e-brake is pulled. If I'm correct, thats with automatic cars, I don't think standards do that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Well I'v looked around my owners manual and seen their was a DRL (driving lights) fuse, I removed it. Then when i start my car my security light lights up and makes an aweful noise then my car would stall. Just like using a crappy cut key. I was also told their is a module i hafta remove but i don't see anything else labled close to DRL, any ideas?

there is "kits" you can get to disable drl's do some searching on gm/pontiac/grand prix forums. now adays its not as simple as removing a fuse.

and as for the ebake thing, on my grandam it works like this: if i start the car with the ebreak on the drl's are off untill i take the ebreak off, but if i put the break back on the lights will not shut off.
