Anyway, anyone know how to find out what kind of info they have listed with your SIN. I checked out the gov site, didnt really see anything, will have to take another look later...anyone know?

Are you meaning a credit check? Your SIN number is usually used for those.

What sort of info are you wanting?

I think they have to show you by law (except for CIA type stuff [img]smile.gif[/img] )

I bet you'd be amazed by some of the stuff Governments and various agencies know.

actually, im %99 sure that they legally CAN'T show you...

 

i'd think they'd show you, if you could proove it was you.. they're not going to go showing your records to just anyone.

 

go into a bank and ask to see your credit check. I guarantee they wont show you, even if you have all the proof in the world that you are you.

The credit company prevents anyone from releasing info.

You can find out what kind of info they have with your sin. You can buy access to a database that has almost anything about anyone. And it is relativly easy to get access too. My mom deals with that stuff when she needs to find out things about deadbeat clients or to garneshee (sp?) wages. They dont ask for a business license to anything.

if u want a copy of your credit report u are entitled to it, most banks etc use a company called equifax for credit checks, u have to go thru a whole song and dance sending them like a million copies of ID and whatnot tho, i believe u are encouraged to get a credit check done every like 6-12 months or something like that to make sure no one has stolen your identity and is rackin up huge debt in your name
