Something about the new members....

I don't know if this is me just being , but here goes.

I have noticed over the last little while, that with the FS, and WTB, forums, there seems to be quite a few new members with one, or two posts selling stuff. I have been on other forums where new members were required to have a minimum number of posts before they were allowed to sell anything.

Not saying it causes any real problems, have a new member with only 1 post trying to sell something, but just something I noticed...

on tccoa they requier a member to have x amount of posts or message one of the admins with their address, name, phone#, etc...

but this is how i found this forum. needed to sell something, came here and stayed here and though i didnt sell the item lol

THe admin and moderators talked about it. A potential problem with instituting minimum post numbers is that a member may simply spam the board or contribute uselessly to get their post count up.

I think if they just want to use the forum to sell stuff, why not? Maybe each time they check to see if they have PM's, they click on an add which does help out

I see your point Dukk... and I agree with cereal. I wasn't saying it was a bad thing, just somethin I noticed.

Yea... plus its hurting them more than us... for example you look and see a guy with 1 post, what do you think? you see a guy with 200 posts, what do you think?

I would buy from the 200 post guy before the 1 post guy.... i basically just ignore them low post count ones because its hard to trust just anyone wandering onto the website....

oh for sure... who's going to trust a guy who has 1 post, and been a member for less than an hour.
