Tax Season....few questions.

Everyone all geared up for the funnest part of the year

Anyone have experience with H&R Block or any of the other tax services? Are they worth going too for the instant cash back or do they charge too much? Also anyone know if you get any type of tax break if you got married in the last tax year?

Generally getting married is a negative tax move...

H&R block is alright as long as you don't get an automoton who merely hammers in the numbers and that is that. If you find one willing to play with things and move numbers around you will likely come out ahead. We moved to an accounting firm a few years ago to process our taxes and I am much happier. They have been able to almost eliminate my yearly tax deficit (damned part time second job)

What about having a child this past year and the wife being on mat leave? I always use the QuickTax program but I'm always feeling like I'm missing out on a whole bunch of money-savers/makers that only non-permanent residents seem to know about
