Think a computer/power could cause an LCD backlight to burn out?

Before I lose my mind with Benq (well not that mad, but just not happy either), I just wanna verify there's no way i could be in the wrong.

About a month ago, I sent my monitor in for warranty. It was 1.2 years old and had aburnt out backlight. I sent it in for warranty, they got it in 5 days...and according to their warranty policy "a refurbished replacement unit will be shipped via 48-hour courier by the following business day after BenQ has received hte defective unit during the second and third year. (exception to holidays and remote areas).

None the less, 2.5 weeks after they received my monitor, i received a replacement. Set it up that night, it was new kinda neat (well refurbished but new to me so thats cool). Used it for about an hour and it went dim then out, hmm thats weird....but it could happen. Blue light is still blue so it's receiving signal. Other monitor has signal. So i calm down and turn it off and on....about an hour later it does the same hting...well thats funny twice in one night...clearly not off to a good start. I email benq about the situation and get the reply:

OK...so maybe who knows...i had 3 other monitors while mine was shipped out never a problem. Tried various configurations of dualview with my computer, but the display never went out for umm about well since 2 days ago (monday). Today...im typing...it go's out....i get upset, turn it off, and on, the benq page displays and then it go's dark, can't even see my screen. So meh....i finish watching king kong after just shutting hte monitor off. Try it after king kong, it comes on for about a second then go's out. So...out comes hte flashlight...shining it at the screen and sure enough i can see my desktop and hte various people that have been try'n to msn me while i was watching my movie. Yep...another black light has burnt out.

So...now, is there anyway, my pc or power could have caused a backlight to burn out on my old lcd, work fine for 3 different LCD's (two weeks worth on each) and then cause a newly refurbished benq LCD backlight to burn out within 3 days??? Or am i just not having much luck??

Think they're gonna make me pay shipping for this monitor which is essentially DOA to get it warrantied??? (cost me $50 (i think) to ship the old one to toronto (only to have their 48 courier take 2.5 weeks)).

So, since there's a lotta computer techs/guru's on here. Is there any way i could possibly be in the wrong or causing any of this? Or am i just unlucky so far? Should i have to pay shipping one way on this essentially DOA monitor???
