How does one go about finding out a vehicle's past?
Previous owners, previous accidents, etc. I found a car in the Classic Car Finder than could likely be a car that belonged to my mom some several years ago...1966 Ford Fairlane GT S Code 390 engine.(I'll try to get some pics up soon...Damn sexy car!!) After talking to several Ford Club members localy I find that this is rare car, even in its day. I have aquired the serial number from the seller, so now I would like to find out if it's possibly THE car.. Whats the easiest, and cheapest way to do this?? She sold the car back in the early 70's..Then she got her brand new off the lot '74 Malibu..350 4bbl with a 4 spd..Factory!
In case I've never mentioned it,my mom was a major hot rodder in her day...she even drag raced A/A Dragster right up til she was 6 monthes prego with me..and the rail dragster she ran belonged to my biologcal father(or should I say sperm donor)..That came to an end when she got to the end of a run, went to pull the chute and the handle came off in her hand...and no chute! When she finally came to a stop, she got out and said that was her last run....and it was...she never raced again....I always feel kinda bad about that...she gave up something she loved because of me... Some of the cars she's owned... 55,56,and 57 Chevy's 56?Oldsmobile 66 Fairlane GT 74 Malibu 49 Dodge and there's a ton more that I cant remember right now... |
Well, you said belonged to her several years ago. So I thought it was a few years back not the 70's. LOL!
