for whatever reason...not getting any bass...so i finally decided to try and figure out why, amp on back of sub feels warm, but no movement/sound on the amp, no power light on the front.

Unplug and replug it in and i get the power light. Go's out after a min or two. Volume is up and connections seem fine, as they ahven't changed.

Only thing i've changed lately is the video to my tv, from my receiver to dvd player.

I'm starting to think maybe somehow the sub-out on my receiver isn't working for whatever reason. Can i connect the multimeter somehow to it and test it???

if so how? (uses single cable...whatever it's called, connected to a umm LFE sub in on amp.

Look in your manual for the reciever.. there should be a method for reseting it. Do that.. You will need to re-setup your settings (distance, channel volume etc.)..

See if that fix's it.

Also, yeah just connect the multimeters leads to the rca end, play a test tone.. see if it reads anything

Also check in the recievers menu to see if the sub has been turned off.

Does the receiver have pre-outs for other channels?
If so connect to one of those and check to see if you get bass now.

i'm a pinhead....

was gonna put an rca cable from the sub out to the amp...went to do it.....so i unplugged the white cable at the sub's side, unplugged the blue cable at the receivers side......wait....thats not right....checking around...the cable i thoguht was plugged into the sub-out wasn't the sub-out cable, nor even the sub-out....so i'm lookin around, the sub-interconnect cable is on the ground.

I guess i dunno it came out sometime and all along i thought a different cable and connector was for the sub on the receivers side.

So in the end i'm a retard....and now it really pisses me off that i can't see the back of my receiver....
