I'm not saying AMD doesn't benefit .. but is 1 or 2% gain really worth worrying about it? It is arguable IMO. From what I have read P4 gets more out of dual channel. And speed spec isn't everything, you might lose some RAM speed going to 768MB single but make Windows run better depending on what you use the computer for.
