try and justify your"dont ban the breed" to all the people who have been or have had their own pets or children killed of mamed by pets like rotwielers, pit bulls and other anaimals for that matter. is it possible that some animals just arent suitable as house pets, and if they arent suitable as a pet, would one of the things that makes them unsuitable be that there are countelss documented cases where they have attacked harmless objects unprovoked. can a rotwieler or a pitbull tell the difference between a stuffed play toy and a 2 year old child 100% of the time, if the answer is no than maybe something should be done to protect the victims. we arent ever going to be able to ban the owners who very well may be the real problem, so the next logical step to protect everyhting is to eliminate the breed. i am a dog owner and love dogs of all shapes and sizes. would i ever own a rotweiler or pitbull, never

Dog breed bans are stupid and inane, they're just another step down the same path that was started with the firearms registry and all the pointless firearm bans that came along with it. Hope all you liberals don't cry too bad when you start to lose civil liberties that you care about.

I've been bitten by tiny little westies. So why should they not be banned?
If one ever got it's teeth on a 2 year old it could certainly kill it.
Eventually you're going to be banning all dogs because a dog from every breed will attack.

newb, you can have all the aggresive dogs you want on your property, but if your dog were to escape or a 3 year old with really bad parents lets their the kid wander off and walk into your front yard, does that give your dog the right to tear it to shreds. there are good arguements both ways on this. the thing is, what is a good solution, well, there isnt a good solution, but the easiest one, path of least resistance is to try to control the offender, aka the dogs. it just seems like every few months there is a story in the news about a pitbull of rotwieler that attacked someone or thing. these are the situations that these dogs get judged on
Last weekend a friend of mine was bit in the face by her boyfriend's sheperd/husky cross.
She needed 28 stitches, and will need reconstuctive surgery.....just missed losing an eye.
The dog has been perfectly well tempered for 6 or 7 years, but it had an ear infection, and I guess thought she was going to touch the ear when she went to pet it.
Any dog can turn.
Maybe they'll bann driving, 'cause so many people (kids included) get killed on the roads.

True, in certain circumstances some otherwise gentle dogs can turn. But the pitbull was originally bred as an attack dog. This means that it's true nature is to attack and defend. Some pitbulls are gentle but you have to keep in mind what their true nature is. That coupled with their vicelike jaws can equal an ugly situation. Unlike a lab or some other breed like it where an aggressive circumstance is not the norm.
