that makes no sense at all.

if admin were to do that, why enforce the rule to begin with?

it's there so people actually contribute to the site.

By forcing them to post 10 posts?

If it isn't to stop automated spammers then I really don't see the point, after all what difference does ten posts per user make?

honestly I found the 10 posts quite reasonable. other sites out there require 50+.

and like I said, it's so people actually contribute to the CCA community. It's not just about spammers.

Yeah I understood your point, but it seems like you fail to see mine. 50+ or nothing at all would be reasonable, because as I see it, 10 posts is not really contributing any.

It kinda seems like a halfway rule. But I honestly believe that it shouldn't be a post requirement to be able to send PM's.

Some people will contribute anyway, regardless of the requirement, and then you have those that just makes 10 posts to be able to send a PM to see if some car equipment is available and then you have the third option that many falls into, including me, that just makes quick 10 posts in a off topic section so that they will be able to send PM's and then later on when they have time they start contributing to the forum.

As I see it, the rule is just forcing some users to make 10 random posts, these users will make 10 random post that will probably not contribute much. The rest will contribute either way, only thing the rule does is to aggravate the users that will contribute because they have to make 10 posts before sending a PM.

That's what I and some other though on a different forum, where I am a moderator.

Now making 10 posts is not the end of the world, but I'm just saying.
