why do i get shocked every time i get out and touch the door to my jeep
Remember everyone (it seemed) had those static strips that dragged under the back bumper on the ground? You don't see them out here much anymore... I suppose BC is not too bad for that, instead of dry air and static, we get mad rain.
My Dakota R/Ts were bad for that, depending on the type of shoe being worn though it seemed. When you get out, keep a hand on the door while you touch the ground and keep it on there to close the door. The constant contact will prevent the shock.
I remember the ridiculous looking static straps that were popular out here in the mid-90s that a certain ethnicity loved to outfit their cars with. Had a triangle reflector on the strap. That came and passed thank goodness.
Hey, ask Dukk how his experience with static electricity was 2 weeks ago in Canadian Tire
It was most entertaining to watch.

make sure you ground yourself before filling up, , at least thats what some told me was the reason for those ground strips o the cars, some women blew up or something from static igniting the gas as she filled. oh well
