5 months ago, my car was busted into....underground locked prking garage...so i couldnt hear my alarm...i went down sunday morning to goto the gym....driver window smashed....deck-gone, subs-gone, amps-gone, 300+ cds-gone..

I replaced the deck and that was it.....new window and tint....two weeks ago, i go down to goto work......****ing window smashed in again...nothing stolen as i take my faceplate with me now.....havent retinted the window and i wont until i move outta the city....damn toronto

 

If i go threw insurence it'll cost me about a grand. If i pay for it myself it'll prolly be cheaper and my insurence won't go up either. And the thing that really makes me mad is that i just bought that deck just over a month ago. Hey Logan you got any parts lying around that you can hook me up with?

 

Though break dude. Hopefully your insurance company will cover it. That pisses me off so much when people can't just buy stuff. I can't wait till a cop pulls em over, Runs the serial numbers and arrests em. I would be happy if cops checked serials more often, I've got nothing to hide. Sunfires are soo easy to break into man, my buddy locked his keys in his, took the ama guy about 2 seconds to open it up. Luckily my car you can't use a slim jim or anything to pop open the door. The previous owner told me they locked the keys in it once 2 hours away from home. The ama guy told them they were better off to wait for someone from home to bring the other set of keys cause it would take forever and he would completely wreck the door lock system. VERY long to get into. Get battery back ups. I am going to get a better battery backup so someone tries cutting a battery cable, the alarm still goes off and I still get sent a page, works within a mile. Try that you slime of humanity.

 

Locked my keys in my car, I mean less than 2 seconds for the guy to open it up. My old car was broken into all the time at the mall. The Sunfire though has never been touched. Keep everything factory looking except for the removed face and no one bothers.

 

One thing that can help to combat theft is to not support it, I here people all the time cursing those who steal, yet when approched with the goods in question they can't refuse the temptation of a spectacular deal.

Remember if you don't buy stolen goods, you might just put someone out of the business.

 

Kinda of topic but still related. If a person was trying to break into my truck and steal my gear and i caught him in the act would there be any legal repercusions to me if i was to shoot him several times with a CO2 8 shot .177 caliber pellet pistol? That is what i have planned anyways but i would like to know if i can get myself into poo by shooting the theif. It won't break skin unless it is bare but it hurts like a son of a bitch!!

It is kind of a funny sight to see a 20 year old guy in his boxers running down stairs with something that looks like a .50 desert eagle and a pager beeping off!

 

Well, if they have your stuff in their hands or you feel threatened then I think you have legal right to "defend" yourself... If it really is defending yourself and not just shooting for fun. But make sure you don't take out an eye or something because then they can probably just sue you right back. LOL! [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img]
