Do you need X box Live to play x box on the internet. I have heard of ppl playing without LIVE, but I never asked how.

 

A program called XboxConnect or something like that will let you play games like Halo which weren't created for Live!

It connects through your PC I believe and lets you hook up to other people as if you were using the link cable.

I think that with a few mods installed on your Xbox's HD and a few patches etc... There may be a way to fool the Microsoft Live server and allow you to connect without paying. I heard of people doing it a year ago or so. Not sure if it still works or not. Don't have the details either. I am sure an internet search might dig something up for you though.

 

^^^ I know. I was just saying that about a year back I had hear that if you had some type of patch installed etc... that you could get on without paying. Never looked into it, never heard details. It's just what I heard. And I didn't doubt it since this day in age piracy can make damn near anything possible.

 

there's gamespy tunnel which is just like gamespy, but for Xboxes, it allowes you to surf for servers on your PC and then connect yourXbox to them through the internet.

 

When using Xbox live with modded boxes most people do 1 of 2 things.

1. Have it wired for the reset(eject) trick
2. Have a larger or dual TSOP for switching between stock and modded firmware
