B.A. Inhuman 18" - Now what?

I just had an old, never used, 18" monster of a sub handed over to me from a friend that moved and couldn't take it with him. I did a little sniffing around and see that the general consensus from back in the day was to run these in a 6-8^3 ft ported enclosure tuned in the low 30hz range. Is this correct? Is it possible to run these sealed and is it recommended? I'm not sure on the configuration, but I believe it has quad 1 ohm coils and double stiff spiders if that helps. Thanks for the help!

You found the correct info, you can run it sealed in about 3 cubes, but a 5 cube ported box tuned to 34 hz would be a similar response with the lows a bit better in the 40hz region.

For the really nice lows just keep making the box bigger and port tuning 30-34 and 6-8 cubes would do some nice output depending on power available.

I'll have to see. My car is an '09 Scion xB and I'm not really sure how much room I'll have with keeping the back seats up. Yeah, I know... but it is nice to still be able to fit 4 people comfortably while driving lol. I haven't decided on an amp as of yet but I was planning on giving it about 1200 watts rms. You think that's too much or right about where it should be?

3000 rms.... nice. How much does that put you back nowadays? Last time I bought an amp 1500 rms was a big deal.... That makes me feel old, lol.

I am not sure but since I have 2 Memphis 1500Ds I was looking at one of these but never got around to getting one.
