Hey, just bought a pair of JL Audio TR400-CXi for my 1997 pontiac sunfire. The original speaker holding is 4x6 but this came with a 4x6 adapter. I removed my door panel. A stupid question but how do i go about installing them spo they fit in tight. From what i'm seeing if i put the adapter in first then the speaker on the outside it has nothing holding the speaker to the door and might just fall out. Thanks

 

You bought the wrong size speakers. You need to either make a mounting adaptor OR the smarter move is to take the speakers back and buy the Metra speaker adaptor template for this vehicle that will allow you to install larger speakers.
