big 3 quuestion

i just got a alpine pdx 1000.1 to replace my kicker 600.1 amp and now if i listen to rap or something with heavy bass my lights dim on my vehicle i was wondering if doing the big 3 would be the easiest way to fix this problem and what size cable do you suggest running?

its a start!
the big3 is not a cure all!
it will def do more good than harm, but will make the most dif if your alt is up to the task of feeding the new amp the power it needs.. keep in mind the big3 is just to make sure the power produced by the alt is delivered to the batt and anything else that needs power with no or little resistance/loss.

most would do 1/0ga wire. this is not expensive if you buy and install it yourself, and would give you lots of headroom for future system upgrades..

it might fix the dimming. But in truth your alternator has to be up to the task as well. I always always always reccomnd doing the big 3 to eliminate any bottlenecks in the power supply. a 200amp alternator and an 8 guage ground will do you no better than a 60 amp alternator when it comes to wiring size and grounds. Overkill is just enough kill.

i drive a 2002 accord and my ground on my bat has a smaller wire like 8awg or something that grounds to the car like right beside the bat and then another larger wire that runs down and bolts to my tranny would i put 0awg on both of those?

Yes, definitely upgrade those wires. No need to remove the ones that are there, add to them is best.
