is there anyway i can connect 2 computers together without a router and use the same internet or anything like that???

so if i get a crossover cable i can use the internet on both computers n stuff ???

Your best off to buy a router for sure if you want to use both pcs on the internet. Unless I'm mistaken.

No.

Using a crossover cable onlyallows youto connect the two computers to each other.

Get a router, there cheap now.

Futureshop always has them on sale for cheap..wireless too usually. Mine is a wireless and it was only $20 after the rebates kicked in.

And then he needs to purchase wireless network cards for each computer Or mainly the one he wants it to work with. in the end $$$$

Go get your self a rounter or else you cannot do it. Yo can hook the 2 computers up togeather but then cannot share the net. You need a router, they are cheap.

Uhh... no.

It is VERY possible to connect 2 PC's to the same Internet connection without a router.

It's usually a pain in the ****, but it can be done. It's just not worth saving the $20 a router will cost

</font>[/QUOTE]That was assumed. I guess I should say if you want to hard wire them, use a hard wired one. My parents bought a SMC router from futureshop. After the rebates and such, it was $5 to purchase.
