One of these

came into BK Drive thru last night. 1968 Pontiac Firebird. It was a darker dull red though. In awesome shape by the looks on the outside. Funny thing he pulls into the drive thru guy couldn't hear him ordering so asked him to turn the engine off. He did, he ordered, he tried to start the car after to pull around and it wouldn't start all he got was turn key click turn key click. We had to push him back into the parking lot he sat in our drive thru for 10mins tryin to start it. You would think someone with a car nicely taken care of like that and that kind of car at that knows a bit about cars, this guy knew nothing. Maybe he was drivin daddies car the girl he was with looked in her 20's so who know's. He was in our parking lot for an hour and a half till someone finally arrived to help him out lol. Poor guy or rather Poor Car lol

Someone mentioned they thought he had an audio system in it and thought maybe he drained the battery or the battery died rather. But when the battery dies and you try to start your car your engine still chokes or whatever this guy got nothing but a click.

That's a '68 firebird. The '78 looks like the one from the "Smokey and the Bandit" movies.
But I know what you mean.
Maybe that was his angle; "Well baby, the car's dead. Whatever could we do in the meantime?......" (enter cheesy 70's **** music here)

No most times if the battery is dead (depending how dead) you will just get a click or even nothing.

I have a Mustang I drive on sunny days and warm summer nights. So been there done that. I have had it where I've let the Stang sit too long and have had to boost it to get it rollin, drove it what I thought was long enough maybe stop for an ice cream come out and click, click. So what I have learned is to put the charger on it the night before and this has solve the somewhat embarrasing problem.

-- could be battery but I had the same problem this spring and after changing the battery which was old anyway, I found out it was the starter.

Western Starter on Annacis Island (under the Knight street bridge in Vancouver) gave me a great deal.

Actually i did mean the 68 lol for some reason I keep having 70's in my head lol Cuz I love the 69 Camaro's and it looked similar to one when i saw it in drive thru last night lol. This would be the 78 lol QUITE a difference ..

Indeed I do I work nights in the kitchen been there for 2 months now. At first it was a horrible job but I am starting to get used to it. Work Sunday-Thursday 5pm-2am and Fridays & Saturdays 8pm-4am. And yes I agree BK does make the best burgers We have A LOT of other stuff now too lol Including a spicey chicken though dont be fooled its just spicey sauce, its not like wendy's where the chicken breaded is spicey.

Mullen. That Makes sense

Pffft, 67 yea, that's like saying a 2005 Corvette is better than a 63 split window.

Actually it's not even close and I HATE Corvettes.

I'd also take just about ANY Mustang from 64 to 73. Anything in between those numbers is NOT a real Mustang.

Fox bodies are cool, don't kid yourself. I only hate one car more than the Corvette and that's the Mustang 2's.
