I'm having a problem with an ebay transaction where I left the person a neutral feedback. This person has already submitted my email address to 1000's of FFA sites causing me to receive 1000's of unwanted emails and now the person is threatening to list my IP address on hacker forums. If he does this, what can I do to protect myself? I have already contacted my internet company in regaurds to changing my email and IP address, but until they get back to me, is there any type of program or anything I can do if he does this?

buy a good router...they're pretty secure..a good router will use your ISP's IP for itself and DHCP IPs to your pc. A good router also has a firewall built in. A router also acts as a type of firewall. I'd go that route. Even after your ISP contacts you.
Second, I would report the EBAY user to the FBI. They will actually take the time to track the guy down and slap him with tons of charges...a buddy of mine had a similar issue...

Download free version of Zone Alarm. I have it and it works great. There is a pro version and a free version. The free version has an unbelievable firewall. It is great!

Thanks for the help guys, but I think he's settled down now seeing as I have his home phone and address. Turns out he lives an hour from me. I told him so and he back tracked pretty quick. Not that I'd pay him a visit, but it's nice to know that he knows I could.

And hey Zack, it's nice to be back. I was in your home town last week, shoulda maybe looked up your last name in the book.
