Hey phole.. One guy i know has a pair of 12's, the higher end ones and they sound decent..

Its more of a preference then anything.. Kaption is nice cause they are sold more through electronics stores then actual car stereo stores, so warranty is a breeze in most cases.

I have two of the new spl 1200 by Kaption and they pound like theres no tomorrow and they are clean as hell. Never heard them bottom out but the one problem is they need the right box. 2 subs in a spec'd box made by Hammer and it takes up the entire trunk of my 2002 Celica and thats a huge trunk
Go to Auto Sound Design they put it together for me and it sounds intense.

Thumbs up

I recently purchased a Kaption Audio spl-1500 in a custom sealed enclosure (spec'd by Kaption). I have Kaptions in my doors and they are crystal clear - really brilliant sound, so I decided to complete the set with a matching Kaption sub. The dealer gave me the option of paying the same $$$ for either 2 spl-1200's or 1 spl-1500 (dealer/price to remain anonymous). I had to go with the 1500 since it was the best fit for my Alpine MRD-M501 mono amp, but of course the 2 Kaption spl-1200's are just as good. The sound coming from the sub is very clean and extremely powerful and no distortion at all - highly recommened!

Not bad products if you get a good price on them.
Cutomer service is also very good as it is still a small company. Tony is a great guy to help you out if you need it.

I wasn't counting on getting that Capacitor because I didn't figure that I needed one with what I am pushing (?), but I couldn't pass on the price , and I have to admit that I love the cosmetics of it (all chrome and neon)...how vain is that? LOL ! Now I'm shopping around for a good alarm system cause I'm worried the factory alarm in the jeep won't protect my investment! Any ideas on a good car alarm??? (I don't need a remote starter)

a store in my town just started to carry kaption, and while i was playing around with the demo board a bit, i noticed that one of their amps, not sure which model, looked almost the same as my old hifonics brutus 1000D. im pretty sure it had a higher price tag than the hifonics, but it probly has different internals. just a little thing that i noticed, pointless information really.

i also just noticed that this thread was started on july 28. i think your a little late with your advice to the guy there boominjeep!
