I recall putting the wrong stuff into my break fluid resivour on my first car..... ended up having to replace all the rubber seals and gaskets in the break system.... I think the bill was around $800...

oh well, ya gotta learn somehow... if this guy ever wants to change his own tranny fluid at least he'll know what plug to take out....

This is one of those people that should not own a car. He reminds me of a buddy when i was in Hschool. Parent sbought him a 80TA and he didnt even know where the aircleaner was. I think after a month of making fun of him, he knew where everthing was finally

lol thats funny, but i have to admit i did that once. thats why you always always check the dip stick when your done!!! tranny and engine. if you do that **** like that does not happen.also don't forget to check your diffs and transfer case. if your missing oil in the tranny then thiers no dout thier will be an over fulll transfer case. which means its time for a new seal.

Actually.... If you look at an auto tranny VW from underneath, the tranny drain is right out in the open, and would be the easiest one to get at if you don't know which end of the crescent wrench to use.

But I do agree... the first warning sign would be the red oil coming out. Woulda been an expensive oil change ($75 Vag-com charge, think the fluid goes for something in the neighborhood of $15/L, another engine oil change, and at least an hour of shop time. And this is assuming he didn't bitch the turbo from over filling, or the CAT.)

Awesome......

Gus
PS: Had a pic of some darwin award winner that filled his crankcase with antifreeze by accident, then started it up. Bearings didn't last too long for some reason.....
