To Baffle... or not to baffle.... that is the question.

So I am going to being pulling out the 2 sets of MTX 5x7s and putting it 2 sets of 6.5s probably infinity to match my subs. Should I use baffles? More concerned about weather protection but how will they affect my sound? And if I should use baffles foam or plastic?

Baffles are great for keeping the elements away from your speakers. They will make your speakers punchier, but they will stunt a deep frequency responce.

dull and flat lol if i would use baffles i would take the foam one. cut the bottom off, fiberglass it. dynamat inside. then on the rear open hole put a mold resistant carpet.

it would make a baffle but no so much that it will flex and it will still breathe a bit

I tried doing it your way Danyman, but it was no match for freeflow into the door in terms of frequency responce. It felt like tree lanes of traffic going down to one. Everything got bottle-necked and unhappy...but there were no signs of water damage at all!
Plastic or foam are a viable alternative to keeping the rain off of the speaker if you use them like an umbrella like they did in the older Honda's and Chrysler doors.
