I installed an Eclispe H/U in my 05 Ram 3500 Diesel, but I bypassed the infinity amp simply because the factory system sounds horrible with all the EQ built in to the stock system (it's programmed in the amp). From what I was told it is also a huge pain to access the amp, so I figured why bother.

Here is a post with some infromation regarding the systems in our trucks, kind of interesting.

I understood what you said. I was just commenting on if bypassing the factory amp, and needed a remote turn on for the new amp, they are easily ran from any 12v acc source.

ok, here's the scoop.

2003-2005 infinity system in dodge ram is fun, it uses a fixed audio output from the headunit. all volume/tone and fader/balance is done at the amp itself. there really isn't anything that can be done at the moment. No one has a module that can accomidate this (unlike for the GM Bose in the 04-06 trucks)

Why are you wanting to change the headunit?

some one told me a headunit adapter harness from a hyundai would fit the output side of the amp?
is the amp behind the glove box?
