how is bassworx????

how are bassworx subwoofer boxes
are they any good?
or would it be better to custom build boxes for high SPL
i have 12" audiobahn immortal series (AWIS12P) and it says recomended:

Ported Box Volume 1.45 - 3.4 cubic feet

can i get great sound out of a proper bassworx box or shud i just go and get one custom built?

the reason y i am aiming at bassworx is i have a discount on them.
any bassworx product.

They use rabbit joints (they interlock the corners), I think all 90 degree corners are squared off, and they are wood braced. Honestly you should just get a custom one but if it's a sealed box, their reference series have less standing waves or something and most of their boxes are 3/4". If you're using one sub you probably won't need 1". Unless you are fitting the woofer into a cramped space, the brand will be cheaper.

For the record, as little as I think of a lot of pre-fabs, the build quality on Bassworx boxes seems to have improved in the last year or so....soooo.....it's too bad they don't build single 12" boxes anywhere near the size that woofer seems to want.

I couldn't find any T/S specs for that sub on the web, but I have to wonder about any woofer that is not recommended at all for a sealed box and has that large a range for a ported one..... Even the Bassworx site doesn't list Audiobahn on the page they have for matching subs to the boxes they make......

If you can find the specs for it we can figure out a box for you.....without them it is a guessing game......

yeah i have the mind set that if you want a pre made box, then you will be looking for a sub based on the box and not what you want. you already have the sub, and a custom box doesnt necassarily have to be expensive either.

there are alot of Bassworx enclosures driving around here..they
are not as bad as some other prefabs
with prefabs they are usually on the small side and
have skimpy port area...

a good custom enclosure will make the subs hit harder
,have no port noise and you have the choice of
different tunings
