I need a 4 Channel Amp for Kicker RS 65.2 speakers. I have 4 kicker rs 65.2 speakers.

is MTX Thunder TC 4004 a good amp to power these kicker speakers?

If not, can anyone suggest a better 4 channel amp?

A buddy of mine uses that amp to power 2 pair of Infinity components in a Focus SVT. It's plenty loud and clear enough for his setup. Sounds good too. It's only 50x4 rms at 4 ohms though. At 2 ohms much better.

 

Ok then I will run this amp at 2 Ohms to power all 4 speakers. I will see how loud it sounds. would I overheat the amp since its only 50x4?

Should I get an amp that's 75x4 or 90x4 for my speakers?

 

A buddy of mine will install the 4 channel amp for me. I have never installed a 4 channel amp. So I guess I will just tell him to run this amp at 2 ohms.

 

He runs all 4 channels at 2ohms and the amp seems O.K. Doesn't get overly hot. I called and asked him about this a minute ago. He says it's been great. Never shut down or anything. It's even mounted under his seat.

 

If you are wanting to run this amp in 4 channels with your speakers, you cannot run it at 2 ohms. If you want to run this amp bridged with all power into 2 channels with your speakers, you cannot run it at 2 ohms. If you want to run this amp in 4 channels to have front and rear fading, with these speakers, you cannot run it at 4 ohms. The difference here is that the friend being talked about that is running at 2 ohms, has 2 ohm speakers...... you have 4 ohm speakers.

What kind of budget do you have for your new amp, I will dig up a deal on one for you.

I had a typo there. It should have read, If you want to run this amp in 4 channels to have front to rear fading, with these speakers, you cannot run it at 2 ohms.

I am summising that you have new front and rear speakers that you are installing. I also beleive that the amp you are installing is for these speakers. You are wanting to have fader control between the front and rear speakers, correct? Your speakers are 4 ohm, they are not 2 ohm. You cannot run the amplifier at 2 ohms with the speakers you have in the way that I beleive you want to. Add me to msn, way easier to talk there. I am at my store for another 15 minutes or so.
