Well look what we have here.

Finally got them last Tuesday. Clarion signature series SSS601 6.5" components. Put them in yesterday morning, minus the tweeters as they are only flush mount. I have to wait until Sunday when I will have a hole saw to use. Really wanted to hear the M/B anyway. WOW these are freaken amazing. They look just like smaller versions of the 10" subs I have. They really do a good job trying to keep up with their big brothers too. I am going to try to be at all the shows this month so if you want a listen let me know. Of course pics...

How much power are you putting to them? Mine are insanely loud with 230w each. Of course they only have to compete with a pair of 10s. LOL I still have the tweeters from my JL set in there, I am going to do a comparison test to see which I like. Sounds good with the JL tweeters in there now. Any ideas on why the tweeters cut out?

I should be at all the shows this month as long as I have the cash. I need to get a sponsor willing to pay entry fees for me. LOL Maybe getting a job would help too. MAke sure you have your meter and laptop when I see you and we will turn off my subs and meter them for ***** and giggles. LOL X-over at 80db with 24db slope they rattle the mirrors and window crank **** like crazy. Going to try wrapping an elastic around the handle behind the **** as the buzzing is really anoying. LOL
See you soon no doubt.

Cool will do. Are your doors deadened, sealed? Made a huge difference in mine, even my old JLs had lots of thump after deadening the doors. I need to find the specs for these to see how low I can safely cross them at. Was just out playing around at low volume and dropped them down to 50hz and they still sounded awesome. Wouldn't want to turn it up too much with 230+rms when they are rated for 100rms. LOL Might just unplug the subs for the next week and keep dropping them down until I hear them crying. The manual says that the tweeters have a protection on them if they get too much they will shut off. It says to turn them down. LOL

MATROMAIN, seems to me like your install would be the problem, not the speakers.
