me and my buddy are touring with the idea of putting together a quite loud system in his saturn sc, which will be loud for daily bumping and start getting into some small spl competitions...gatta start somewheres 
were playing around and taking out my dads RTA next week or so and were gonna find the freq for his vehicle and start on a box the only problem is we can't figure out which sub to go with
everyone has so many different opinions...some say go DD some say JL others say this and others say that
from what you guys have seen what wuld u recommend
were prolly thinkin like 1 kick *** 15 or a couple kick *** 12's
prolly in the 2000 watt rms range

If you want a SPL based system, just arbitrarily purchasing a sub or a recommended sub is no the route to go. No offence to the person who recommended the new xxx, but have you heard it yet? How can one recommend something without knowing it's capabilities and limitations. I would ask Yuli for some input here on some drivers. Hopefully he'll stop by and offer you his .02

marty wells in kamloops just hit 147.5 with his saturn...running 2 12 inch woofers(about 500 watt speakers) and a 2400 watt amp.....box was very specialized for that vehicle...built by justin larouche out of georges in kamloops. justin is on this forum in the western section.

Well we were gonna go with the 06 XXX, but like m2r summed it up...we changed our minds
that sub was gonna run bout 800 bucks
now were looking at a solox 12 inch which would be 850
so yea somewheres in that range...
