Hi amp alternator? where to buy?
Hi amp alternator? where to buy?
Hi. My current install is going to pull 300amps at the most. Now my stock alt can supply 130amps if lucky... I was looking on ebay and internet I was able to find few hi output alts, but how big my new alt should be(how many amps)? Cuz I cannot find an alt that puts out more then 250amps.... and seems like i need 350 or more, or am I wrong?
depends on the car. and if you can you could put 2 alts that runs 250amps each. but it all depends on the car. if its a truck you can prob make a costum bracket to hold 2 alts and well of course you will need a new belt. you can also sacrefice your AC for an alt that would fit
Its a 97 civic 1.6.... doesn't have ac... so I might be able to find something that firs the alt.... now how do I approach this? Hook up the alts in parallel? and just get a belt for a civic with ac? Thanks for reply
Dude I hate to tell you this but your stock alternator is not putting out anywhere close to 130 stock, its putting out more like 60amps. Like someone said iraggi is a good bet and you can also lookup ohio power generator. One question though, are you planning on using this car for a serious spl system or something because im curious as to why think you need so much power? I have a 2002 civic with a stock 80 amp alternator that I have done a big 3 upgrade on, 2 batcaps and a kinetik HC1400 battery and im running 2 very unnificient old school class a/b mtx amps one of them running bridged to 1ohm and im finding that the stock alt is more then adequate for what im running.
