I need some specs for a ported enclosure I am going to be building. Max width up to 41". Max height up to 17". Depth can be whatever. As per JL specs it should be 3.5ft3 tuned to 30hz. There will be two JL 12w3v3's going in it.

Would it be best to do one port or two, or does it matter? Building it is not a problem given I have some specs. I just don't wanna fudge up the specs in the first place and have it sound like a wet fart through swamp ***.

So, could anyone be of assistance?

so for my trunk it would be better space wise to make it wider and not as deep. If I take 6 inches off of depth obviously it would make the port shorter. Can I take that and add it to the port inside the box at the back.

 

messing around with the measurements will screw up the tuning and cubic footage

Shouldn't you put a baffle between the two subs and give each its own port? I thought two subs in 1 box cancel each other out somewhat.

 

there is nothing wrong with a shared chamber enclosure. given that both subs will be ran off the same amp, and both subs are identical, there will be no issues

identical woofers can share enclosure volume. there is no reason to separate them.

 

i also have two 12w3v3-4 subs and i was looking for the right enclosure for them. so this box is guaranteed to get the best sound and max potential out of these subs? i was considering selling these subs to get 2 12" kicker L5's.
