Few questions?
Few questions?
Hi, just getting my system back in after some amp troubles. And adding some new components to the system. And a few things have been going through my head. Was thinking somone could asnwer them for me
1) I have an eclipse cd5423 HU. Front/rear/non fader preouts. I have the ability to control the non fader level...But i cant understand what its changing. A non fader does exactly was it says correct? keep the subs fom fading. So if i adjust the non fader up or down what am i changing just the volume of the bass? What would be a good setting to start at? high or low when setting my gains??
2) When i had a problem with my 4 channel amp i had somone look over my wiring to make sure everything was par. He said my grounding might be an issue. I thought id ask here before changing it, because i didnt see a problem.
I have 0g from battery to distro - 0g from distro to dclass amp - 4g from distro to 4 channel amp.
Now for my grounds i have;
0g from my cap to ground block - 0g coming from my dclass to ground block - 4g coming from my 4channel to ground block
Everything is coming to a grounding block. Which is grounded with 0g to the chassis. He said i should have the 4 channel grounded with 4g on its own that i cant have a bigger ground then power wire? is this true? I also have done the big 3 with 0g.
Thanks in advance,
Kyle.

What, the ground wire can be the same or larger than the power wire on the 4 channel. It can also go to one common ground point.
As for the non fader, non fader means that it's output is independent of the master fading conrol, thus you can use the fader on the cd player and point it front or rear and the subwoofer remains exactly the same. When you are adjusting this control it affects solely the output levels of the subs. Start it wherever you like, however, to set the gain on the amp, I would have the level control at maximum. Think of it as a way to decrease response rather than add to it.
