I heard that when they were on sale refurbed on ikesound a while back for 125 a piece other forums were going crazy. Pretty decent amp for what I hear, lots of power at a nice price.

Kinda makes one wonder why there would be so many of them refurbed in the first place, no?

picked one up for my XXX off of a fellow member. Has treated me well. I've ran it at full volume (for my system - watching a movie) for 3h straight plus music at near full for 2hours...amp performed well, barely got hot. I've been impressed, had no complaints so far!

When they were produced it was never difficult to find refurb RF BD1500's and MTX 81000's. Both of which have proven time and again that they are studs of an amp.

The Viper amp is a solid performer.

If we compare the Viper D1200 to a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1?

I would probably take the Viper do to the unknown status of PG at this time.

This is an old product and i doubt some new with warranty are still available

If we toss this and focus on musicality and performances wich one you choose...

I think the tantrum would put out a bit more power than the viper. Musically, I could only guess. Both would be respectable choices.
