Ramzo,
I have purchased a few products from onlinecarstereo.com and have not have any problems. They tend to be very good with customer service and issue you a tracking # as soon an the product ships. They would also call you if there is any issue with price adjustments before charging. In one particular instance, I ordered an amp and sub from them (Los Angeles), within 8 days the products were at my door (Barrie, ON)...I highly recommend them...
PS Take into account that whatever you buy will be subject to canadian taxes, customs, duties and brokerage fees once it crosses the border...

Yup, the hidden charges that you as a Canadian must pay, they do not have to disclose to you. Then **** warranty on the equipment in Canada means that in the event of a failure, you are paying to ship it back to them and then paying again to have it shipped back to you. Not worth it IMO.

I agree with mr2nr. I think that nowdays especially with most new electronics being made overseas, the local economy needs a boost. When you buy from a local vendor, you get customer service above and beyond what you could ever get from a telephone call or an email. Most of the time you can get fantastic deals from a local shop. They are usually willing to give you a break on some prices if it means they will get business, and that's a win-win situation for everyone. They know all about what they are selling you, and can answer any questions you may have. Plus you get the items in-hand when you pay for them. I try to buy local as much as possible, but my diehard loyalty to the old a/d/s orion means that I have to get most of my gear through the internet, very hard to find anything close to home.
Go to your local shop or talk to a vendor on here, i've seen some people get fantastic deals from vendors like mr2nr, especially on my fav. HU manufacturer, eclipse.
Give it a shot, you might just be surprised what you find.

i agree with mr2nr and 03rejo...but as smpl_gy said...the border fees are gonna hit too...also, watch your warranty...i work at a place that is an alpine service depot...and if you walked in here with a problem and a receipt from onlinecarstereo.com, i would tell you to send it back to onlinecarstereo, and hopefully theyll take care of it for you...also make sure the place is actually authorized to deal in alpine and kenwood...i say that because if i recall, alpine does not authorize online retailers... aside from that though your probably going to install this stuff yourself, and its nice to have the support of a local dealer if anything comes up or you need a hand...should definatly head to a local shop and chat with a salesperson and work something out with them, in the long run you'll be glad you did
also, a quick calculation...lets say you blow a sub, s**t happens...thats 13 days shipping for a little over $30...so if they send it back the same way it would be another 13 days...and theyre gonna charge probably the same to get it back if not more, so theres at least $60 and a month without your sub! not only that, alpine will warranty a blown sub once, but i have my doubts that onlinecarstereo would...

Hey, i bought a Clarion deck off this site that is very hard to find at local retailers. It was supremely cheaper then it was elsewhere even after duty. Duty is basically just paying taxes like you would at futureshop i dont know why people worry so much about it, as long as shipping isnt large which it was free in my case, then its price comparative to around here. Yes it may not be as easy to return with problems but all their stuff is new and has manufacturers warranty which is usually the warranty you will get covered under anywhere because most products are not defective out of the box takes a while before you encounter any problems in which case no matter where you bought it, it will be sent to manufacturer. In my case clarion is Canadian so it wouldnt be much of an issue but I definately recommend the site they are very professional shipping was quick and the item was still NIB sealed as described.

Also in response to the other replies. No vendors will charge you to ship it back, COD hardly even exists anymore. Yes if you have a problem you have to pay to ship it there but local vendors rarely have the selection unless you live in a large city and their prices just arent competative unless they are a big box store. Honestly ive bought local and online, ive NEVER come CLOSE to matching an online price when thuroughly researched and hunted in local vendors. Check around for local and online prices and see what onlinecarstereo is like. If its like 20 bux dont bother, not worth the wait or possible shipping headaches. If it is like 100 dollars on a 500 dollar item i suggest you buy there, they are very good.
I recommend that you call Clarion Canada, ask them if the cd player you bought from the US site in this thread has any warranty from Clarion Canada. Let me save you the quarter for the phone call, simple answer is NONE. So you are indeed paying to ship it back to the US, and paying to have it shipped back to you again.
