I have tree way AVI components with silk dome tweeters but I miss the detail of a real hard dome metallic tweeter ( specially for trance music, cannot acheive this hard tss tss techno sound that i can ear of some others cars, even with my 5 great equalizer on my ALP CDA-7998 ). So I want to add a pair of tweeters on the dash but dont want to buy another amp just for new tweets.

Can I wire my new tweet in parralel with my silk dome tweet on the same crossover?

Any other suggestions?

The tweets I have now are the AVI HT-25 , wich are normal 1 in 4 ohm tweeters I think.

Did not buy other tweeters yet.

No you can't... Running a second tweeter on the crossover will changed the impedence load presented to the crossover's outputs and thus change the crossover point.

What you can do if you'd like to add a second tweeter is to connected it at the amplifier's outputs. However you must install a second passive network between the amp and the second tweet. Depending on the type of passive network, it can get to be expensive (i.e. - you may want to be able to control the output of the second tweeter).

My reccommendation would be to find a hard dome tweeter with the same impedence as the exisiting tweeter and substitute them. Much easier than adding the second tweeter.
