Steel Mesh/Perforated

Guys I'm looking for a steel mesh/perforated that can be used as a grill
I'm looking to do a stealth install with covers for the amps and subs.
Needs to be strong enough to hold up to daily use, groceries, sporting equipment, etc..
I just dont know where I should be looking, or what exactly I should be asking for.
Also it would be best to find a local source if at all possible.

A metal store would have some steel rod you could get cut, bent and tapped for the subs (like the JL grills for the W7 line) but you'd be looking at 1/8" plate steel for that kind of strength across a large amp with no center support......the store should be able to cut out some designs in it for ventilation and show off moments......

I take it MDF pretty panels for the amps aren't cutting it?

I used the wire mesh used for stucco. It is super strong and has almost a chrome finish to it. I got it at a place called roc con which deals with agregates and stuff for landscaping your place. So maybe rona or totem or something may have it too.

Homer Depot, Rona, and CanTire all have a metal rack with various rods and angle metals. They also have heavy expanded metal mesh that is a good candidate for this.

Anyone use a similar mesh to span open expanses in the doors so you can put deadening over it? (seen this technique somewhere..perhaps on Raamat's site, and either using tapping screws or liquid nails to secure it?

Best (and cheapest.... ) thing I've found for doors is a Walmart plastic kitchen cutting board. The heavy duty ones are stiff enough to support the mat, I screwed them into the door skin and slapped the mat on it....

Worked like a charm....
