All you B.C guys questios???

Im sorry if messed this up just thought about it BC is vancouver LOL

I have a cuple questions to ask you.I understand B.C has tons of jobs availbile in almost every field.I wanted to ask how bad is B.C with crime etc,i know vancouver is know for crack heads.

also what are the areas to stay away from

The plan is either the end of this year or right after 07 hits were going to drive down and see whats availble see prices for apartments etc cause we already have a house here in ONT.i would'ed mind moveing down there but if i can't find work i'll just stay here and work.

Well my trade if thats what you want call it is

Mobile electronics installlation,i have bronze and silver but don't have my paper saying i can do Remote starts yet(2500 hours working on it).So thats kind of let down.

I would love to get in Constrution as well,or even be that person that holds the sign that gets like $10 dollars to hold it.

if some of you guys could lend a hand that would be great,i don't know what city i want to live in yet as this is a family thing.

Well B.C isn't all that bad. I have lived here all my life and have never really felt threatened by my surroundings.

Are you looking to live in the downtown core? (ie. Vancouver?) becuase its pretty expensive in that area for housing and such. Or are you wanting to live in the surrounding area's where you can access the dowtown core within reason.

Langley, Aldergrove, Mission, Maple Ridge, Surrey (Fleetwood area is where I live) are all good area's where they housing is affordable in my opinion.

Vancouver's down town area (Hastings and such) has its homeless problems and crackheads, so does surrey (around the boarder of New West and such) but those are area's to stay away from. As far as crime goes, look around the area in which you are intersted in.... you can get a idea what its like by the housings and people around and such.

Car audio installer.... there are a few shops that are looking for installers out here to be honest. They don't require much training to be honest (on paper that is) as long as you have good work ethics and willen to learn you can get in.

Finding a easy $10 a hour job out here, no probelem just come out here with letter's of referances from past employers and a clean appearance and attitude and you are set!

Thanks for all that, the plan is to live there for a good 5 months or so and see how it goes if nothing happens where just going to move back to ONT to the house.

Work Ethic is my middle name, you don't even know how mad i get when i see kids messing around at my work and don't even get in trouble but or still on the clock. My reasoning is if you wanted to work there then work and stop standing around eating food goofing off.

I don't want to go all the way there and end up at a fast food place when i could do that here, already put up with enough at some other places.

My biggest worry was theft then anything, with people breaking into my car, sure i have a alarm but that doesn't stop people and with those damn tint laws down there to.I have 15% on the fronts and don't want to ripp it off because i live there.

Is health care the same as Ont or will i pay if i do get sick????

also whats the averge home in your area $150,000 or like calgary $300k

I mean my dad will just transfer and all but i want to start makeing some nice money and get a name for myself like i have here.(the good way)

Hey man no worries. If you have a good work ethic and from what it sounds like you do you can have a job in no time for sure!

Theft is a issue anywhere you go in Canada, if you leave your car unlock or cruise into a mall parking lot with your stereo booming then you are more exceptable to crime because you are "advertising" that you have a stereo. But generally speaking if you have good alarm and there isn't really anything visually they can steal you will be find. *knock on wood* my car has never been broken into yet and I have a more them full stereo and some times are visual.

You don't have to worrie about working in a fast food place, you can find a job in a warehouse (shipping receiving or general worker) or in a production place very easy with no experiance and get payed anywhere from $12 plus a hour.

Heath care is pretty simple, you pay a monthly fee and it covers all your basic needs. Ie. Walk in visit's % of perscriptions hospitals etc.

Averavge home...... what is your opinion of a average home? 2 bedroom house, condo, townhouse or ?

Totally depends on where you go. Lets see, dangers? In the last year I took down a thief and had him pull a knife on me. We had a cougar get into the barn and make a mess. Now the RCMP and CFB Comox 442 squadron are putting a severe damper on business with their Operation Greensweep (or whatever it is called)....it's harvest time out in them thar woods and they use the airforce bases helicopters to swoop in, unload fully equipped and armed grow teams, cut the crop, fly it out and incinerate it. No hazards here at all. What you can find a house for in Vancouver you can find a mansion for here. Jobs are everywhere in BC, anywhere you look for that matter. Depends if you want cold in the winter, wet in the winter or stupid freeze your butt off in Moscow kind of winter.

Crime is anywhere you live, as far as car theft, theft from cars, etc. Now as far as feeling fear of just walking around the neighborhood, there's only a few areas I might shy away from: downtown eastside (just too many desperate people with needles and knives around there), a couple areas of Whalley in Surrey (I lived in Whalley for 3 years and would walk in the early dark morning hours to the Skytrain about a block from the biggest problem areas and didn't have any hassles, but was always aware of anything around me), the Newton area of Surrey can be a bad place after dark due to bored, drunk teens, downtown New Westminster and that's more or less about it.

Housing gets less expensive the further east from Vancouver you go. $300k will buy a newer house you are looking for in Chilliwack, and older house in Abbotsford, a new townhome or dumpy house in Langley, a newer townhome or teardown-house in Surrey, an older townhome or new condo in Coquitlam/Burnaby/New West and an old townhome or new/newer condo in Vancouver/Richmond.

It seems most audio places are looking for experienced installers. Shouldn't be hard getting a job if you have some years of experience under your belt. Basic medical care (BC Medical) is $48/month/adult and covers most stuff except vision, dental, theraputic stuff, etc.

Lightbulb

We're looking for a warehouse guy right now.. If you are on the ball and motivated it can work into a decent sales job in a few years. It is not at all car audio related though.
