is this a good buy?

i am looking at buying a set of alpine 12 type-r 4ohm subs and the guy is asking 180cdn for them does this seem reasonable?

new version(hamr surround) or old? Brand new or Used? 180 for both?

it has the accordion surround and its 180 for both the four terminals are in line

as long as they're in good condition, it's a very good deal. Each one of those retails in T.O. for 240-300, and they are excellent subs, I have two myself.

Yeah, thats a very good deal. I would say that you should proceed with a litte caution. Make sure that you can hear them playing, assess their condition sonically and look for any obvious signs of abuse. Talk with the seller to develop a repore with them and find out as much as you can.

A couple questions tossed into the conversation can give you a little guidance. If the seller competes in spl, then that could be relevant to the condition of the subs. Ask if they are online on a forum such as this, and look at their posts. If they seem to be having problems with other transactions or are the village idiot, then you might want to stay away.

Regardless of how good a deal it would be, I think this is prudent when buying anything without a warranty.
