dimming.

I have some major dimming issues. T3 1000D wired at 4 ohm. 89 Nissan pathfinder. 110amp alt. 700cca energizer batt(tested at 812 CCA). 4 gauge alt-batt and alt-ground. 0/1 gauge batt-ground and to amp. 0/1 for amp ground. connections are good. the only thing is, my alts kicking the bucket fast. I am going to replace the alt, but if I still have dimming, what would you guys recommend? ive hated caps as I see them as bandaid's, but im at a point were I think thats bout the only thing else I can do. other then a yellow top/orbital.

Get some 0 gauge from the alt to battery + and another 0 gauge line from the block to the chassis ground. Measure the ground return resistance to ensure that you have a good ground.

Upgrade your alternator. Upgrade the alt to batt and alt to ground to 0 gauge. Also a yellow top would help. If you still have issues, then a hybrid cap should take care of it (hybrid meaning cap with battery built in) ...

You have to do the wiring anyways, do it first. Make the transfer of current as efficent as possible before you head out and spend money on the alternator. Even though you are probably going to need the alternator, it's the wiring that you need to do first.
