Help Wanted-Sub and Amp

Hello all you technoids. Help me out willya?
Had Infinity 12.1d sub and PG amp driving it.
Was happy with sub but not amp.
Looking to spend 200+ on new sub and 300+ on amp.
Anyone with multiple set up history please gimme your opinion.
No offence but do not want to hear from persons who only had one setup with nothing to compare.
Subs under consideration: Infinity,Kicker,Diamond Audio,Orion
Amps " " " : Hifonics,Kicker,Audiobahn
I am all about sound quality not loudness.
I have Infinity Perfect comps and a Hifonics sub driving 'em and love it.
Had people who spent 3 x what I did be jealous of sound I get.

Almost forgot.. Goes into a Ford F150 backseat so only room for 1-12" in sealed box.

Thanks all for your valued input.

I have a couple of the Diamond D615D2's. I like them alot they sound pretty good even at high volume/excursion. They are not really in a SQ set up though, so in the proper install I would bet they would be quite impressive. Diamond also makes several shallow mount subs which would work well in you application. I would probably stay away from kicker if you want sound quality.

If you were happy with the Infinity sub why not just get another one? Of course I'm guessing you just want to see what else is out there but a $200 budget isn't going to give you a whole lot of choices.
Another option is going with a used driver. Some to watch for are OZ Matrix Elite, IDMax, Resonant Engineering SE, JL w6v2. All four have excellent SQ and work great in sealed enclosures (and don't require a ton of power).

There's lots of great drivers out there that you may like just as much or even better than your Infinity from company's like RF (T1 would be worth a look), MTX, Kicker, etc. You'll just have to go out and take a listen to see if they are what you want.

As for amps, finding one with the right features and the power to match the driver you buy will be easy enough. What did you not like about you PG amp and which amp was it?

Thanks Guys

I have decided to go with the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12d VQ and Alpine MRD-M605 . At 300w rms it should put out enough power right?
I have read rave reviews about the VQ for a closed sealed nox in tight space so it is a natural choice.
The sub and amp will run me about $375 each right in my desired range.
thanks again for input.
