Changing rear speakers
Changing rear speakers
I have a 2010 cobalt with the built in pioneer system.
I have a pair of Alpine 6x9s Type R's that i want to put in, in place of the stock's with the Pioneer system. First question is, any specific amps you would recommend??? And number 2: I want to keep my stock deck in so how would i go about hooking this up. I know you get that little device and tap into the wires.
Mostly, I just cant figure out where the remote line would go.
Thanks!

well if I was you I would go sign up at cobaltss.net you should be able to get some help there because im not totally sure(I have an 05 cobalt, just regular audio system). You will also have to figure out how to bypass the stock amp. SO you might have to run new wiring. it will be a pain but it will work just not to sure exactly how to do it. It might even just be easier to run a new head unit but not to sure.
Also this amp would work perfectly to power you back speakers. 2channel amp

If you would like to power all 4 I would suggest something like this. http://www.crutchfield.ca/Infinity_Reference_475a_75W_x_4_Car_Amplifier_p/108r475a.htm
or you could just simply go with an 4channel amp with 50watts per channel. It will have plenty enough power. http://www.crutchfield.ca/Alpine_MRP_F300_50W_x_4_Car_Amplifier_p/500mrpf300.htm
