kicker cone blown off help

I just got brand new kicker 12" L5's and hooked them up to an orion 1200d not even turned up half way and in two days have seperated the cone from the voice coil, the glue has let go, is it possible to repair this and if so what type of glue do I use?

did you break in the solos ? I have a feeling that you dident those subs are great if you break them in for about 1 1/2 hours at about 40 Hz low volume . trust me ive been running solos for the better part of 7 years from the rounds to the squares and the best thing you can do for those subs if you want them to last more than 2 days is break in..

usually its a case of too much juice for two long
you got the voice coil former too hot and it seperated from the plastic cone
just because your gains set at 1/2 dosn't mean its running on half power

i've seen it where 1/2 half gain at 1/2 volume on the radio
equals full square clipped output

yeah they are last years L5's and it looks like you can just glue the inner cone back on to the outer cone but dont know what glue to use, its still half attached, and yeah I dont think i broke them in properly i pounded the hell out of them lol and they were extremly loud, like i mean louder than my L7's i had lol

If you bought them from a legit dealer then just bring them back, it should be covered under warranty.

Hey Rich, I had the same problem with my Adire, I just gorrilla glued it back together and walla it was as good as new! Try that, if not I would suggest some really good apoxy resin compounds

I would tend to say that the subs were defective....

If the cones move freely and the coils are still alligned you can probably fix em......

I would use epoxy or CA (superglue) gel.
