Been driving a lot more at night and it's been real annoying when the display keeps switching around from black to blue screen (inverts the color... what was black now becomes blue) every 30 or so seconds.

I tried looking in the manual and all i could find was to turn the brightness down. I tried every display mode and they all keep switching around. I don't mind the brigthness from the display it's only when it keep switchign from blue to black that keeps screwing me up.

on my 8600MP you have to power the HU off (accomplished on mine by holding the source selection button down for 3-5sec)
when off the 5 button toggles reverse mode (screeen inverting colours annoyingly) and 6 toggles demo mode

silly that they aren't part or the setup menu or anything like that
but thats how it's done on mine

 

Sweet.. i'll give that a try...

was there ever a firmware update so when in random mode.. if you clicked next.. it would randomly go to a next track.. rather than the actual next track?
