Question New system

Hi I have successfully hooked up a 2000 watt blue legacy amp to 2 800 peak subwoofers and a generic head unit in the past and it worked good. My amp fried so I gave up for a while.
Well I just purchased 2 2000 watt american legacy amps one is 2 channel and the other 4 channel, a decent clarion ls100 deck, and 2 6X9 3 channel 400 watt peak speakers to start along with the 2 800 watt rockford p3's. I have a few questions about wiring this all up mainly about the amps.

-What guage wire do i need?
-Do i run 2 positive wires to the different amps from the battery terminal?
-Will there be 2 hookups to the deck for the rca cables or is there some sort of Y split I will have to buy?
-I know this is a lot of power so is there any other precautions I should take?

Thank you for your time

Realistically you have about 1000-1200 watts rms as that company only lists peak power on their amps(and even that is suspect). Answering your questions, one large guage power wire from the battery to a distribution block is the typical way to run the wire, and from there 2 smaller guage wires run to the amps. There's nothing wrong with 2 separate wires except it's more expensive as thicker wire is costly. As far as the deck...depends on how many rca outs it has, ideally you want 2 front sets and a subwoofer set (3 stereo pairs or 6 wires). Precautions: 1. You need a fuse of appropriate amperage less than 12" from the battery on your main power wire. 2. Use same guage ground wires. 3. Keep your amps well ventilated. 4. Fuse each power wire from the distro block to the amps (easily done if you buy a fused distro block). 5. Run your signal and speaker wires on the opposite sides of your power wire. 6. Use at least, 4awg (american wire guage) power and ground wires, 16 awg speaker wire for main speakers, and 12 awg for subs. 7. The most important thing is to educate yourself on good car audio equipment and rating systems...the only good brands you have there is the deck (clarion) and the subs (rf)...american legacy is owned by pyramid...the worst car audio equipment ever made imo...the legacy stuff is a little better.
