Is it possible to play the audio of the portable DVD player in the car? I was thinking of using the headphone jack and connect it to my Headunit (880prs). There is a 2.5mm stereo plug cable in the HU and it may recognize it as an AUX device and play the sound through the stereo system.

Well the plug is used for auto TA so that is correct. That plug is AUX1 and the RCA style is AUX2. However, pg. 76 of the manual reads:

Using the AUX source
This unit can control up to two auxiliary equipments
such as VCR or portable devices (sold
separately). When connected, auxiliary equipments
are automatically read in as AUX
sources and assigned to AUX1 or AUX2. The
relationship between AUX1 and AUX2
sources is explained below.

It states this for AUX1:

AUX1 source:
When connecting auxiliary equipment using a
2.5 mm stereo plug cable

and this for AUX2
AUX2 source:
When connecting auxiliary equipment using an
IP-BUS-RCA Interconnector (sold separately)

featuring RCA output.
