Amp Adjustment **** Needed ?

Well I bought a Kenwood KAC-9102D amp. Only problem is that it did not come with that adjustment ****, that plugs into the amp, and you can install it basically on your dash. ( I forget the name of it ).
Anyways, is this needed ?

no, he really doesn't need one. There are tons of amps out there that don't have a remote gain. If he doesn't have a dedicated sub out, all he needs to do is set the gain properly so he won't clip.

A remote gain (like already stated) is not needed. People tend to think they are used as a bass boost. But in reality they are not. And thus you should not be playing with one as a bass boost.
So don't worry about it. I installed one for my amp, and I don't even have it plugged in.

While the remote gain is not a bass boost, it can still be very useful to people who listen to a variety of music. The max setting on the remote gain is not the max gain on the amp, but rather where you have set the amps gain, if that makes sense. Its good if you wanna listen to lil jon first (with crazy bass) and like coldplay right after.

Is that really how it works? I thought it was just a normal gain ****.
But still, I have a sub volume on my deck

yep thats how it works, so if you had you amp gain at like nothing, then if you turned up the remote gain up to full, you still wouldn't be getting very loud.
the remote gain is better than a sub control as it is very easy to adjust on the fly, while your driving. You don't have to take your eyes off the road to adjust, and is faster if you listen to different music styles right after each other.
