Im putting together a system for my friends car, nothing huge, just a deck and 4 i think.

i have got my eye on some speakers that should work, but i am at a loss for a headunit.

im familiar with alpine and clarion, but they dont have much for a price that he likes, so i figured i would ask what pioneer, jvc and kenwood have around the $220 range?

looking for a good cd player, good mp3 performance, decent radio performance, and at least one preout.

Pioneer Premiere DEHP390MP is in that price range. It has 3 preouts (sub out), front panel aux input, MP3 and more.

coming out this year Kenwood has a KDC-MP235 its 2x pre out front + rear/sub is swichable plays MP3's and all other standard formats... detach face... I believe the price to be is around $169-199
damn good unit its replacing the 232 model which didnt have a swichable rear/sub rca out
