Focal 165V2 or CDT EF61's?

Similar topics floating around, but I don't have or can afford the higher ends of these 2 brands. I just bought the CDT EF61's and came across an excellent deal on the Focal's. Curious if anyone has ever ran these side by side to compare them? Which is better SQ wise?

I'll be putting 85 watts into one of these from a kicker amp. Any help or suggestions would be nice. Also, depending on the one I choose, the other will be up for grabs!!

A CDT EF61 has sung for 2 years in my Accord and I always think it's good until I heard a set of Focal 165 V2 in a local shop and man there's no comparison. Even the 165V sounds much better to my ears. The problem with the EF is the midbass. There's little to none midbass at all and my doors are well deadened. Focal sounds balanced and warm.

you need to hear the speakers in a car.

if i was a shop and i need to move one typ of speaker over the next i would have it set up that the one i need to move is the best .

o no shop would do that !

if i needed to look at speaker thay would be # 3 on my list and 1 and 2 i would need to sit for some time befor i would get the speakers and it would be MOREL or FOCAL FOR 1 AND 2 (I LIKE FOCAL BUT I WOULD NEED TIME FOR THAT ONE)
MOREL Supremo/focal be that would be hard

Yeah, I know I need to hear the speakers in the car, but, wanted opinions. I'm assuming when you say 1,2, and 3 the 3rd is CDT? Sorry if I misunderstood. Concerning Morel, I've never heard them before but have heard exceptional things about the speakers. Anyone know a shop in the GTA that sells them? Would like to check them out.

Never mind the darn listening thing, just do it. The Morel speakers are amazing and will not dissappoint. I sold 3 sets in one afternoon based on the prototypes that I had here in the store. We installed the prototypes into a newer Dodge Durango and let them rip powered up with a Eclipse ICEpower amp giving them 50w rms. Results were way above what we expected and totally embarrassed the MB Quart that were originally installed. The prototypes we had here have now been put into production for all of you to enjoy as much as we did. Listening to a speaker in a demo board as compared to properly installed in your vehicle are two totally different things.

without spending over 1000 or even 500 dollars, what would you recommend from Morel? i.e. what type? I know the supremo looks like it's quite pricey.

had a listen of the dotech 6.5's. They're pretty frick'n good. However, at the same time i heard the ovation's and they're like SOOO much better. But, for the money Dotech's are definately worth it. Not sure which way I'm going to go, but thanks for everyone's opinions!
