I am totally new here. I'm looking for some Ideas to set up my car and my truck. I like my sound clean and clear. I don't usually turn my music up loud especially loud enough to annoy anyone since I do live in a small town and have a storefront business. Once in a while, I do like to drown my thoughts in the music, that usually means, road trip, cranking the base, hammering the hell out of my fillings and bluring my vision.

First of all my car is a 1996 sunfire. In it I have a Sony (XMZR704) 4 channel amp, Sony (XMGTR6001) monoblock sub amp, Two sets of Alpine (SPR17S) Type-R 6-1/2" components, Two Infinity Perfect 10 VQ Subs, a Sony (CDXGT240) deck, zero guage power and ground wires to a red top battery in the trunk, from there it's zero guage to a fused distribution block with 4 guage outputs to the amps. I have made side baffles in the back seat and mounted one set of components there. I have a set of door pods made and am running the other components up front. My subs are in a moulded box dropped down in the spare tire cavity and in the left over space from the spare tire I have my amps, battery and power distribution mounted there.
Second my sound sucks. My tweeters are way too bright and tinny and dynamat to my doors and panels didn't help at all either. My mids are great but my subs are not smooth at all, they aren't covering the higher bass very well at all. I pulled the Q core out completely and still had crazy low base. I switched my subs with the Fosgate Power series 10" dual 4's and it got worse.

Any suggestions. I am thinking of starting again from scratch.

Oh yeah, My truck is a Ford F-150 ex cab 4x4 bare bones stock It will be a fun build. Suggestions are welcome for it as well.
